Our journey began in 2014 on the vibrant campus of Norfolk State University, where two first generation rising seniors crossed paths and unknowingly began writing the first chapter of something truly special. During an evening with mutual friends, we kept making consistent eye contact throughout the night. Megan laughed at my silly jokes throughout the evening which made me admire her beautiful smile. Brandon’s charm and attentiveness made me more intrigued. From study sessions in the library to cheering in the stands at Spartan football games, our friendship quickly blossomed into love—rooted in laughter, late-night conversations, and a shared vision for the future. We’ll never forget our first date, a simple stroll along the Virginia Beach boardwalk that turned into hours of sitting on the beach gazing into each other’s eyes, sharing childhood memories, discussing our dreams and aspirations, completely losing track of time. It was one of those moments that just felt easy, comforting. natural, and right—one that marked the beginning of a true connection.  Following college, we made the leap to Megan’s hometown, Washington, D.C., ready to build a life together. Brandon’s parents also relocated to the DMV area which made our decision fate- our love and dedication to our family has always been a strength and shared bond amongst us. The transition from college sweethearts to real-world partners came with its challenges, but we found our rhythm in the hustle of the city as young adults—supporting one another, growing individually and together, and always finding time to celebrate life’s small joys. Over the years, the unwavering love we have for each other has brought our lives to new heights. This is why there was no hesitation in proposing to her. I knew that I’d be lucky to spend the rest of my life with Megan. So on June 24th, 2023, at Megan’s 30th birthday party, surrounded by the people who have been part of our story from the beginning, we got engaged!! That moment was everything we’ve dreamed of—filled with love, tears of joy, gratitude, and the promise of forever. Just one year later, we reached another milestone: buying our first home—a symbol of our shared foundation and the life we’re continuing to build. Throughout our relationship, we’ve explored the world together while reaching new peaks in our personal development—collecting memories across oceans, embarking new hobbies, soaking in new experiences standing hand and hand, always returning home with a deeper appreciation for each other. Every trip, every step, every moment has brought us closer together.  Now, after more than a decade of unconditional love, growth, and unwavering partnership, we’re thrilled to say: we’re getting married! On January 2, 2026, we’ll begin the next chapter of our story surrounded by the family and friends who’ve cheered us on since the very beginning.  Thank you for being a part of this journey.
