Makayla and Kyle met in Lincoln at Southwest High School. They had a drama class together and were paired up for “stage fighting”. Makayla was supposed to “stage kick” Kyle in the face, however she ended up kicking him in his crotch. From that point on Makayla had always had a crush on Kyle, and after a few years of blossoming their friendship into something strong, he asked her to be his girlfriend.

Kyle and Makayla packed up everything in their house they felt was needed, shoved it all into Makayla’s car and headed west. Kyle & the dogs lead Makayla to Colorado (mostly because she could barely see out of her car with everything in it) and they moved into their tiny home. Their home is 160 sq ft, has a full kitchen and shower! Their tiny area has a river running through it, a dog park for the boys and wonderful neighbors who welcomed the Nebraskans with open arms! They’re very happy there, and truly enjoy going tiny. They try to live their lives remembering it’s the experiences and the time spent together that will matter most in the end.

Kyle decided (after almost 7 years!) that it was finally time to propose. He took Makayla all around Colorado! They enjoyed a nice hike to a water fall, and hot springs in Idaho Springs. Then they moved to Denver where he took her to the Mile High Christmas Tree, which is a 2 story LED lit christmas tree that plays light shows to the music, and you can go inside and watch it! He then took her to have dinner at PF Changs, and dessert at Cheesecake Factory (like their first date!). After a delicious meal he surprised her with the Blossom of Lights at the Denver Botanical Gardens! The walked through to see all the wonderful plants covered in Christmas lights. After that they made their way home where Kyle surprised Makayla by dressing Riku up in a wedding dress, Koda up in a tux and got down on one knee. He then proposed and of course, she said yes!!
