What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Unfortunately, in Alabama, the weather is unpredictable any time of year. We have had some Novembers that are freezing cold, and some that are in the 80s. Both the ceremony and reception venues are indoors. Wear a jacket if you are normally cold.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Because of the unpredictable nature of Alabama weather, we have opted for both venues to be indoors, however, with that said, guests are welcome to tour the Huntsville Botanical Garden the day of the wedding at no charge (weather permitting!).

How do I get to the church?

Answer

The fastest way to get to the church from the hotel takes 14 minutes and is 7.2 miles. Come out of The Westin/Bridge Street parking lot to the light at Madison Pike. (There are 2 lights. It doesn't matter which one you go to.) Take a left at the light onto Madison Pike. Go 0.2 miles and turn left to merge onto AL-255N. Drive 1.8 miles and take the US-72W/University Drive exit towards Athens (the second right). Stay on US-72W for 3.3 miles. The church will be located on the right (in between Redstone Federal Credit Union and Wendy's).

How do I get to the reception from the church?

Answer

The fastest route will take 14 minutes and is 7.8 miles. Take a right out of the church parking lot, immediately get into the left lane. Make a U-Turn at the light by Arby's, Starbucks, and Walgreen's. Drive 5.5 miles down US-72E to the Sparkman Drive exit. Turn right onto Sparkman Drive NW and continue driving straight. Sparkman Drive NW turns into Bob Wallace Avenue SW. The Huntsville Botanical Garden will be on the right 0.6 miles after you cross the interstate.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the Huntsville Botanical Garden where we will be serving happy hour. You may also tour the garden grounds.

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

No theme. Semi-formal/cocktail attire required.

Are there any other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

We will be having an after-party after the reception. We will also be having a brunch on Sunday, November 8th, 2020. Both events are located at The Westin Huntsville.

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed. If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "no", so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

At both the ceremony and reception locations, parking is indeed free! At the Huntsville Botanical Garden, there is an area to unload guests who do not wish to walk from the parking long (not more than 25 feet away).

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our reception is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a date?

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Yes.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Our reception will be a full sit down meal and will include an open bar. Happy hour will be served prior to the reception. The meal will be a choice of stuffed chicken, beef tips, or vegetarian.

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

Please contact us ahead of time with your special diets so that we may work with the caterer to fulfill your needs.

Transportation will be provided from the hotel to the church and also from the church to the reception.

Can I take and post pictures of the CEREMONY on social media?

We ask that our ceremony be UNPLUGGED. As much as we love our family and friends to take photos, we have hired a photographer and videographer to capture the day. Relax and enjoy the show! We will have plenty of photos to share from the ceremony!

Can I take and post pictures of the RECEPTION on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures onto their social media channels. Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #becomingtheburgetts so we can keep track of all of your pictures! This will give us something to look at while we are waiting on our professional pictures to come in!
