How we met

Christopher and I were first introduced when we were around four years old. Throughout the years of attending school together, we hung out a few times because of mutual friends. Little did I know Christopher was crushing on me and never got up the nerve to ask me out while we were in school together. Fast forward five years and a couple of wrong relationships, and he finally messaged me via Facebook. At that moment in my life, I had decided not to date unless I felt it was God telling me, "this is the man I have for you." It took some convincing, but Christopher finally got me to go out with him. When he walked in my parents' door to pick me up, that was it I knew this was the man I was going to marry. When I think about it, I still can't believe we went through life playing in the road together, passing each other in the hall, and making faces at each other without giving "us" a try. It just goes to show things work out only in God's timing.

The Proposal

11.7.17

After a couple of years of dating, I was starting to wonder if Christopher had the same feelings of "us spending forever together." We had planned a trip at the end of October (over our dating anniversary, 10.30.15) to drive up to Pigeon Forge. With the loss of a special someone in our lives, we had to push the trip but decided that we needed to get away at that moment more than ever. We drove up to Pigeon Forge, to spend several days in the moutains of Tennessee. One day after rain rescheduled our morning, we decide to take a trip to the Island in Pigeon Forge. We went shopping and ate a huge lunch at the Paula Dean restaurant. We were sitting by the musical fountain when Christopher expressed the desire to ride the Ferris wheel. I was not a fan of Ferris wheels and questioned him about it. It looked as if he wanted to ride it, so I agreed. We got on the Ferris wheel; it stopped at the very top. I was admiring the view when Christopher grabbed both of my hands, looked me in the eyes, called out my full name, and asked me to be his wife. (Here I thought we would never get to this point of our relationship). I was so shocked I forgot to answer, I got him to ask again and of course said, "YES!"
