Amy and Nathan met in 2020 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Amy had just completed her degree as, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. She was curious about life on the east coast and decided to apply for a small animal rotating internship at the North Carolina State School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon matching to NCSU, she quickly fell for a man with a sweet southern charm. Neither one of them looking for something serious soon realized their compatibility and connection were undeniable. The first night they met they couldn’t help but talk for hours and quickly snuggled up close to each other like they had known each other for years. It was an instant connection like nothing either one of them had experienced before. Nathan couldn’t get over how cute, smiley, and enthusiastic Amy was to do anything. She was the equivalent of a jumping bean. Amy nearly melted on the floor seeing Nathan in blue jeans and cowboy boots. She was mesmerized by Nathan's contagious smile and infectious love for the Wolfpack. He quickly transitioned from, “I’m allergic to cats,” to “full-time Cat Father.” Amy, as a granddaughter to a fisherman, quickly bonded with Nathan’s fishing hobby (to his and his dad's surprise she would cut the bait and take her own fish off the hook). Nate against his better judgment allowed Amy to teach him how to snowboard, enjoy food he was convinced he didn’t like, and take cooking classes together. Nathan enjoyed teaching Amy how to weld and change a timing belt. It didn’t matter the activity they were doing; they just loved the quality time together. Amy knew she would have to leave soon to continue her dream of becoming a veterinary surgeon, just a few short months after meeting Nathan. Amy matched to UC Davis for a residency in small animal surgery, throwing quite the cross-country kink into their relationship plans! They decided they couldn’t live without each other and packed up their cars heading almost 3000 miles west to Davis, California. After arriving in California, they found themselves packed in a 600 Sq ft apartment. Continuing to fall deeper in love even in tight quarters really proved they were meant to be! In their free time they can either be found eating out or traveling to Lake Tahoe, the Redwood Forest, Napa, San Francisco, San Diego, the Florida Keys, or back to North Carolina. One location stands out more than the rest, Battery Spencer, San Francisco. Overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco skyline, during a spectacular sunset Nathan dropped to a knee asking Amy to be his forever Bride in May 2022. They are extremely excited for their special day and can’t wait to share it with you!
