Joe and I met in 2016 in Orange County, CA when a mutual friend, thinking the two of us would make a perfect match, set us up to go on a little beach date. As it turned out, that friend could not have been more correct. We instantly connected and have been inseparable ever since. Right from the start, everything felt effortlessly natural, organic and real; we talked about life experiences, goals, ambitions, family, and everything in between. I couldn’t believe it was possible, that I could have gotten so lucky. In that exact moment, I knew that one day I would marry him. Fast forward 3 years and we planned a trip to Mexico just to relax and spend some quality time together. As soon as we arrived at the hotel and got settled in, Joe asked me if I would like to go down to the beach and take pictures. (Weird!! Because anyone that knows Joe, knows he definitely does not enjoy taking pictures!). Though I had been hoping that Joe might pop the question sometime soon, I never imagined that he would have brought an engagement ring with him to Mexico! So, we set off for the beach just as the sun was setting. I found a nice gentleman and just as I had started to ask if he wouldn’t mind taking a few pictures for them, Joe interrupted, “Actually, can you please take a video?” My heart nearly exploded with happiness!! Joseph got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Without any hesitation whatsoever, I immediately said yes. It was the best proposal I could have ever imagined–life felt like a dream. Our families are the most important to us, from the East Coast to the West Coast. We are blessed beyond measure to have each of our families to share with one another and so many close friends, both individually and as a couple, who provide us with nothing but smiles, love and support, and keep us grounded. We hope to celebrate with you all soon. #becomingtheboylans
