Who knew that two sets of friends going to brunch would become our love story? Joseph and I met on October 13, 2019 at The Blind Mule in Downtown Mobile. He was with his best friend, Cristian and I was with my best friend, Kristina. His best friend, Cristian always says that J (that's what I call him) saw me from the moment I walked in and would not stop talking about wanting to go over and talk to me. I noticed him too, but kept to myself and focused on having a girl's brunch. So, a few mimosas and some liquid courage later, they made their way over to our table and start talking. By the end of the conversation, he asked for my number. By the end of the night, he asked me out on our first date, and the rest is history. J came into my life right before I bought my first home, I lost my grandmother, and before the world shutdown due to a global pandemic. They always say that God puts the right people in your life at the right time. We survived all of that and made it to October 13, 2022, the day he asked me to be his wife and I ugly cried in front of a whole restaurant, only to then ugly cry in front of my closest friends and family at a surprise engagement party that he planned with my best friends. We are so excited to be able to share this special day with all of you and to have you along for this next chapter of our lives as we are #becomingthebodenheimers!
