Her Story (Taylor's Version)

Love at First Sight

October 4th I walked into Grace Canton and saw him on stage tuning his guitar, got huge heart eyes and instantly thought "That man is beautiful", but timing wasn't on our side then. Over 7 years, we stayed in touch over Instagram, sporadically messaging each other, checking in and seeing how life was going. One day in April of 2021, I just HAD to tell him I had a crush on him (just a school girl crush OBVIOUSLY), but timing was still not on our side. March of 2022, we did another check in and life wasn't going too well for me at the time. Tyler was there to be encouraging and a comfort I had never known. I asked if he could make me a playlist because I knew we listened to the same music and slid him my phone number, so he could text the playlist to me. ( trust me, I knew what I was doing ;) ) and from there the rest is history. We talked and texted about "hypothetically being together" for about a week until we facetimed for the first time that lasted 7 hours (!!!) and it was like we both knew that FINALLY time was on our side. We both know God has orchestrated this beautiful life we have created so far together. I cannot wait to become Tyler's wife!! From the moment I laid eyes on him, my heart knew, my head just didn't yet.

His Story

I met Taylor when she very briefly lived in Michigan, and out of all of the churches she visited, it was the one where I had JUST started working. We didn’t have a lot of opportunities to get to know each other, but we became friends (even though I turned her down from joining the worship team!). Taylor ended up moving back to Tennessee, and over the next few years we stayed in touch via social media where we would occasionally check in with each other about life, or bond over similar music interests, or laugh at weird memes that probably only we thought were funny. At certain points in both of our lives, we were even able to share encouragements and prayers for each other. Well, in 2022, during one of those check-ins, we started talking and just never stopped. Taylor tasked me with making a playlist for her long commute to work (a task that I took VERY seriously), and since the day I texted “The Taylist” to her, we’ve talked every day. Our relationship has been long distance, but we’ve been very fortunate to have a ton of great experiences together, visit new cities, go on road trips, and fall deeper in love every day. We often reminisce about how we see God’s hand all over the ups and downs of each of our lives, and how it was clearly the faithfulness of God that led us to each other. I’m so excited to be done with the “long distance” and begin our marriage together!!
