His Version Helping a friend move in to The University of Tampa in January of 2014 was the first time I laid eyes on Miss Holly Louise. Holly, who was new to UT, was fortunately placed in a standard dual-bed dorm room, with that friend whom I was assisting move in. Following the unloading of my friends' belongings, I sat on my friend's bed that was located perpendicular to Holly's, with space in between. And there she was. 19 years old, wearing her pajamas. During this introduction, I had tried to make conversation with her, but it didn't really seem to lead anywhere, despite inviting myself to lunch with her and her friend. Nonetheless, without being too pushy, I told her it was nice to meet her, and I went on my way. Over the next few days, I had asked a friend of mine to let Holly know that I thought she was "cute" and if she could pass along my number. Days, weeks, never receiving that notification on my phone, I considered it strike two. Long story short and fast forward to March 2014, the initial message never ended up being delivered to Holly; and we started talking and hanging out regularly. It's crazy to believe that 7 years after we first started spending time together, that I would be marrying this woman.

Her Version We went on Mexican Cruise to celebrate our 5 year anniversary early. We stopped at our second port, Manzanillo, Mexico. A quaint little town filled with great food, and shopping. Before boarding the ship, we took a stroll by the water. We posed for some photos, and before I knew it, I saw him pull out a black box and got on one knee. I remember shoving him. I was SO surprised. He told me how much he loved me. How he had this ring since FEBRUARY. And then he asked me to marry him. As I wiped my tears, I said yes to marrying the love of my life! BEST. DAY. EVER.
