How We Met

They say love will find you when you least expect it. We originally saw each other's pictures on a dating app and of course, Michael swiped right first and when I swiped we matched. I messaged immediately and told Michael he "looked like a greek god". He was hooked. Michael said there was something about me that made him have to get to know me more. We continued to text and then exchange phone numbers. Monday November 20, 2017 we met for Brunch at Village Inn. One look at each other and we could not stop smiling. We continued to get to know each other that morning and we have been inseparable ever since.

The Proposal

On February 1st I received a text message when I woke up from Michael, "I will need you to pick me up from the skating rink at 10, please. Thank you. Love you". I thought nothing of it. As everyone knows, Michael takes his normal Saturday ride in Milton anyways and his mother and sister told me the night before to get ready and we will all go to a Birthday Brunch for his mother's birthday that day. I got up early, got ready and Molly and I headed out the door. Traffic was a bit heavy on the way and I was hoping to not be late. I pulled into the skating rink parking lot and headed inside. There on the rink floor stood Michael. Dressed in his black shirt, blue jeans, and he had his quads on. My initial reaction was I believed he was skating to pass time until I arrived. Then he asked me and Molly to step near. He knelt down to Molly and pulled out a small box from his pocket. He asked Molly if he could have permission to ask me to marry him. and then placed a ring on her finger. Of course with a hand over her mouth, eyes large and smiling ear to ear, Birdie said yes! Then Michael gave her a hug and turned to me. He was so nervous and could barely get the words out when he said, "Will you continue to do life with me? Will you marry me?" He knelt down and I said, "YES! I would love to!" But it wasn't over . . . He said to me "There's someone else here who wanted to be apart of this." I almost had a panic attack when I saw my best friend come out from behind the counter. Michael had flown my best friend from California to Florida for this special moment. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect moment from Michael. I fell in love with him at that skating rink wearing the exact same outfit he did on the day he proposed.
