Believe it or not we met on Clubhouse! The viral app during COVID-19, yes that's it! November 2019, we happened to be in the same chat room, Dabo noticed Kiki's (Christyn) profile picture of her running on a track which made Dabo interested in getting to know her. We all call her Kiki btw… Back to the story, Dabo followed her on social media but yeah, she didn't follow back. We happened to end up in the same room a couple more times, and Dabo followed and unfollowed a bunch more times to get her attention but no luck either. One lucky day, everyone in the room introduced themselves and as Dabo spoke and mentioned he was a personal trainer in Nigeria, immediately Kiki checked him out, saw he followed her and hit that followed back. We started talking on instagram and instantly became inseparable. Kiki was expanding her business to Nigeria and asked Dabo to be part of the team and of course he said “Yes!”. We eventually exchanged numbers and started video calling non stop. Mind you we weren’t in the same time zone so, we would talk till odd hours in the morning. Dabo was in Nigeria while, Kiki was in Canada. Getting to know each other more, Kiki asked Dabo about his relationship status, Dabo mentioned he wasn't really looking for anything and Kiki replied “Okay”. Dabo said to himself "this one that she just said okay, weirrrrdddd". While getting to know each other better Dabo found out that she wasn’t a Nigerian, and decided to revisit the relationship topic…. Haha For two people who hadn’t met, we sure spent time on the phone dancing and singing to each other. December 2021 we finally met, on Kiki's first trip to Nigeria. Even after talking for a year, the first thought to our heads were "ah thank God it's real" and I'm sure you'd know why we thought that. Fast forward to the December 2022, Dabo made his way down to Cameroon to see Kiki's home, family and also experience the rich culture. New year’s eve, talking through our plans for the new year, we asked ourselves what else we were possibly waiting for. Dabo asked Kiki to marry him and she said no, just kidding….! If she said no, we won't be here writing our story. She said yes and it was beginning of one of the best moments of our lives!
