Joseph and Allyson didn't officially meet until their sophomore year at Ave Maria University. It was a philosophy study group that allowed them to get to know each other. They connected instantly. Eventually, the study group dwindled down to just the two of them as no one could get any work done with all of their flirting and talking. As they continued to build a friendship, the Sadie Hawkins dance was approaching. Ally was unsure of who to ask. She brought it up to her roommate Molly, who looked at her with disbelief and asked her, “Are you not asking Joey?” After half an hour of making her tea and building up her confidence, Molly sent Ally out the door to ask the boy she liked to the dance. Little did she know Joey was waiting for her to ask him. It was the night of that dance Joey asked Ally on their first date. After their first few dates, Ally asked Joey if they could pray a novena to discern dating. Because Joey and Ally prayed a rosary on their first date, they chose the novena to St. Philomena, who is called the Patroness of the Living Rosary. On the last day of the novena, November 20th, 2015, Joseph and Allyson started dating. On November 10th, 2017, the second anniversary of the date that they started praying the novena, Joseph and Allyson prayed the novena again, just before he asked her to be his wife. In a few short months, Joseph and Allyson will begin their lives together and consecrate their marriage to Our Lady of Fatima on the 101st anniversary of the apparition. Capturing our relationship through a few short paragraphs is incredibly difficult. While it can describe some of the highlights of the last two years, it cannot contain the love, the joy, the passion and the friendship that has blossomed. Joseph and Ally both felt complete once they came into each others lives, and that feeling cannot be put into words. We are fortunate enough to find each other young, we have shared many firsts and are looking for a lifetime of more.
