Our story began in 2003 at Morningside Middle School in Charleston, South Carolina. Back when AIM, watching 106 and Park after school, and burning mix CDs was the thing to do. Tasha was the new kid, Darren rode the same bus, and we quickly became inseparable. Best friends from day one. Although being military brats had its ups, the downs were really tough. Darren’s mom got military orders to Texas. Heartbreaking. Dramatic. A scrapbook was made. (Yes, it was cut with edged scissors, all the pictures contain B2k posters, Tasha is taller, and Darren had his sweatband on). Distance didn’t stop us, our friendship stayed strong through every phase of life. Within those years, we met up several times when we were near each other and it was always the best time. Fast forward to 2019. Tasha went to visit Darren in Arizona. They hung out in Phoenix listening to music, playing arcade games, and slamming mozzarella sticks and beers. We realized pretty quickly that life is just fun together and we decide to make it work even with the long distance from Cali to AZ. Things were going so well we decided to move to Nashville to be on the east coast closer to both sides of our family. In 2022, our lives reached a new level of happiness when we welcomed our daughter, Taryn, our pride, our joy, and the undisputed boss of the house. On Christmas Day 2024, Darren finally made it official with an at-home proposal surrounded by family. After 23 years, countless memories, and one amazing daughter, Tasha said yes. To make this story even better, Darren kept that very same scrapbook from 2003. It will be a sweet keepsake for Taryn when she gets older. We can’t wait to celebrate with the people who have cheered us on through every chapter. Still best friends. Finally getting married. 💍✨
