Casey had just moved to New York & was out with old college friends she hadn't seen in a decade. After going to grab a bite, one of her friends who lived in Murray Hill said, "let's go to my local bar." The whole group went to The Junction. Casey had imbibed a little too much (but what's a drink or 4 between old friends, right?) & was really feeling the music & dancing. Brian meanwhile had been out with one of the partners at his accounting firm. It was the witching hour - too early to go home, too late to grab some friends & go out. (It was a Thursday evening after all.) So he decided to stop into The Junction to catch the Yankee game. Back at the bar Brian had taken his seat in a corner & Casey was dancing by herself. The story goes ... (although both of them have different versions of how this transpired) Brian says, "Casey was dancing by herself making eyes at me & pointed at me to come over & hang out." Casey says, "I was dancing & pointing at everyone. But not sorry he came over." Brian hung out with Casey & her friends for awhile. Over the course of the evening everyone was leaving & Casey mentioned she loved to sing. Brian convinced her & her friend to go to a Japanese Karaoke bar around the corner. They sang a duet - Shallow from A Star Is Born. At the end of the night Brian courteously got Casey an Uber home because he insisted the subway wasn't safe that late. The next day Casey woke up to a text on her phone, "Hi this is Bradley Cooper. Is this Lady Gaga?" The text was witty & made her laugh. The rest is history & here we are.
