Fall in Love

Every love story starts with some magical moment and preludes to what the future has become. Ours truly is no different, but just a more technology-filled way. It was the middle of June of 2021. Jessica and her best friends Valerie and Liz were having a girl's night at home filled with music, doing their makeup and hair, and dancing around like the night would never stop. They decided they wanted to go live on Tiktok since they had recently gotten their following up high enough to get there. So they settled into the kitchen, propped up their phone, and grabbed drinks. Some time had passed, filled with laughing and singing to people they didn't even know when their live feed went off. Confused about what happened, they restarted the app and decided it was time to take a break and that they would scroll and troll through other creators' live feeds. In the process, they came across a live feed of this country boy named Eric, sitting in his music room playing his guitar and singing random songs that he was making up as the audience gave him words to use. Jessica was charmed, from the sound of his voice to his beautiful brown eyes. They all sat in his live feed for hours talking, laughing, and joking with him. Everyone just hit it off, and after only a few hours he ended his live and joined them on a group call. That night every last one of them stayed up till the sun was rising, dishing out the life stories, and embarrassing moments, and by the end even had some pretty deep therapy sessions. There was this alluring connection that grew that night between Jessica and Eric, some would even say it was like two familiar lost souls reconnecting that were destined to meet again in this lifetime. That day was the start of something extraordinary...They talked all day every day for weeks leading up to the first time they would meet in person. Jessica was at work that night closing up the shop she had worked at, when Eric decided there was no better time than the present to finally meet the girl who he felt this undeniable connection with. He got in his pickup truck and started to drive the two-hour trip to Jessica's Job. As Eric got closer his nerves started catching up to him, worrying that this girl he was falling for already wouldn't like what she would see. As he got off the highway, he fought the urge to turn around and head back home. At least then he wouldn't have to worry about the disappointment he would feel if the feelings weren't mutual in person. There was this little gas station on the corner right next to Jessica's Job where he pulled in. Hands shaking, he reached for his phone and dialed Liz, one of Jessica's best friends. "I don't know if I can do this, what if she doesn't like me?" Eric said when Liz answered the phone. "That is not Jess, she is going to love you, and honestly she will show you a love you have never experienced before.". she assured him. He took a few deep breaths, started the truck, and drove over to her work. He circled the parking lot, partially looking for a parking spot, partially trying to calm his nerves. After what felt like hours, he settled into a spot, got out of the truck, and started heading to the doors. And then it happened... Jessica saw him in the parking lot walking up, her heart started racing and all she could do was run as fast as she could directly to the man of her dreams. As she ran out the door, Eric spotted her with excitement he opened his arms and embraced her as she wrapped her arms around him. Time stood still, and in that moment everything in the world disappeared around them. It was irrefutable at that moment they both knew.. Fast forwarding three years, with some bumps and bruises along the way, God made sure to show them this was it. This is where they were both supposed to be. And the rest my friends, is History...
