Picture it. New York. Thursday. January 14th, 2021. The infamous COVID still out and about. And 2 strangers went on a date. The sparks were flying. We knew we needed more time together. Second date. The best date of all. It was absolutely freezing outside in Manhattan while walking to the MOMA. We are both huge admirers of art and were excited for our date. By the end of it all, we were enamored by the art and each other. Walking hand in hand to Piccola Cucina, a restaurant a few blocks away from the MOMA, and sitting outside in the below zero weather [COVID precautions], our date still lasted for hours. Neither of us wanted to leave that restaurant or one another, even though our olive oil on the table was frozen. The frigid night didn't matter to us. Being with each other only did. And that's when we knew this would be forever. Fast forward 3 years later, December 14th 2023. It is only right that we would truly start our forever at the top of the mountain, in freezing cold weather. To remind ourselves of where our love story began and to symbolize all the freezing winters we will experience in our life together.
