We're getting married!

Ryan Bonner

and

Zoe Lavin

March 19, 2022

Scottsdale, AZ

Our Story

Zoe and Ryan met during their sophomore year at Ole Miss. Zoe's roommate was dating one of Ryan's fraternity brothers, and set them up for Zoe's sorority "date dash". They hit it off immediately and Ryan asked Zoe to go on a second date with him. He took her to El Mariachi, which was the only restaurant in town that would accept their fake IDs so they could have her favorite, margaritas. Zoe and Ryan spent the rest of their college days going to date parties and football games, and searching for new beers to "Untap". Following graduation, Ryan moved to NYC and Zoe wasn't far behind. They loved exploring a new city together and starting their professional careers. In 2018, Ryan accepted a new job in West Texas and moved to Midland after only a year in NYC. Zoe continued to live in NYC and they had a great time planning visits and trips to see each other. In 2020 Zoe and Ryan spent the lockdown at her parents house in Scottsdale, AZ with her family and all 5 dogs. They enjoyed their prolonged spring break so much they decided that was where they want to get married. When it came time to start getting back to real life and Zoe's lease was coming up in NYC, they decided they couldn't stand to do long distance anymore after being together so much that year. Zoe and Ryan packed their bags and moved to Dallas, TX to start a new life together!

The Proposal

Zoe and Ryan went on a trip to New Orleans to celebrate their sixth anniversary. This trip had been a year in the making as they planned to visit for their fifth anniversary, but had to cancel due to 2020 travel restrictions. New Orleans holds a special place in their hearts as they would make frequent trips during college for Ryan's fraternity formals, Mardi Gras, and even the Sugar Bowl (when Ole Miss was good at football). Ryan planned the proposal for months with help from friends and family. Zoe and Ryan took a walk on the morning of their anniversary athrough Jackson Square in the French Quarter where Ryan got down on one knee and proposed! Zoe said yes and the crowd cheered. Their families joined them for a celebratory dinner at Tableau, where they had dined together six years prior during their first trip to New Orleans.
