We had a few encounters before we decided to make things official. The first time we met each other (Sept. 28th 2017) I introduced myself as “Walker Texas Ranger” with some added comments. As you may assume from this encounter, it was not "love at first sight". Then our mutual friend, Josh, brought her over to the house one night and we decided we were going to take a shot of moonshine. Right away I knew she was going to be the one I would marry. Later that year on the same date of Sept. 28th 2018 we added each other on Snapchat which became the start of something wonderful. Our involvement in Greek life brought us together and started the relationship that led to the start of something so wonderful.
I, Walker, had a heck of a time planning and getting the perfect proposal together. I went ring shopping two times to where I saw the perfect ring knowing that was the one for Ciara. After picking the perfect diamond I had to wait for the ring to be handmade. This, however, came in wrong by a teeny tiny mistake on the ordering. Once this was resolved it was time for the big proposal. I had several ideas but the one that stuck was going to our favorite winery for slushees and family time. I was super nervous and my face got all red but in the end it was the most perfect moment. Ciara was totally surprised and was in love with her ring.
If you know me well at all, you know I am the most GULLIBLE person. You could tell me the silliest thing, and if you were a little bit conviencing, I would believe you. To no surprise I was just as blinded by anything that would of been a hint to the proposal. I love spending time with family and friends so it had always been a thought in the back of my mind to have them be apart of my "dream proposal". I just didn't think a day trip to Patoka Winery and French Lick would be the start of such a new and amazing chapter of our lives. I am forever thankful that my nervous, awkward boyfriend would get down on one knee in front of everyone we love and ask for my hand in marriage.
