Beau and I have known each other for what seems like forever. We both attended the same elementary school, played on the same soccer team, grew up in the same grade and school system. For me, even at a young age I was attracted to Beau. He was so silly, and had such a big personality. To this day they are still things I love most about him. Fast forward to Junior High, and you would find 12 year old Micki... crushing on Beau and trying to impress him by memorizing and rapping all the words to "The real slim shady". Yes, that really happened! I still have my 8th grade letter to myself saying "I have a really big crush on Beau now". Fast forward again to Freshman year of highschool. We were both at that super awkward stage of not really knowing how to date, but tried... and failed. And again our junior year. Jeez. It seemed as if the odds were stacked against us. But finally senior year arrived, and baby that was our year. We shared some of my favorite memories that year. We graduated together, and celebrated together. That summer we went on our first big trip together. A road trip that took 30 hours (one way!) down to the Keys to visit our friend Michael. Fast forward 4 years! Lots of memories made in those 4 years! We learned a lot about each other, and ourselves, we had high and lows... and I wouldn't change a thing. We made the decision to finally move in together! Our first house we rented was adorable! It was such a cute house close to downtown South Berwick, more memories made! Then December came around... December 25th, 2018.
December 25th, 2018. Christmas! We had spent the night before at the Blanchettes celebrating and having a blast. In the morning we got up still in our PJ's and opened presents with cups of coffee in hand. After almost all the presents were opened I was asked to open up one more. I stood up, walked across the room, and sat down to open the last gift. A great new set of pans! Woo! Little did I know this was a distraction. When I turned around there was Beau... down on one knee, ring in his hand, asking me to marry him. Naturally I started bawling like an idiot and couldn't even seem to get out the answer... but of course in my head I was screaming YES YES YES! I am so excited for the next chapter in our book, and can't wait to celebrate with you all this upcoming fall. ~Micki~
Last year, through all the un-knowns of the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone our wedding reception. Beau and I decided at the beginning of the pandemic no matter the circumstance, we were still getting married. So that's just what we did! We had a beautiful, intimate wedding ceremony on Trudy and Gino's front steps, and it was perfect! It was only lacking one thing ... all of you! We are so thrilled to finally celebrate our marriage with all of you!
