Things To Do

Dane County Farmers Market

Dane County Farmers Market

200 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 455-1999

The Farmers' Market is one of our favorite Saturday morning traditions. We personally recommend some Stella's Spicy Cheesy Bread, "Magic Coffee" from the Graze coffee stand, and a "healthy" scone from Chris & Lori's Bakehouse.

Memorial Union Terrace

Memorial Union Terrace

800 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53706
, (608) 265-3000

A drink on the terrace - day or night - is a MUST for any Madison visit. Go for the sun, stay for the sunset, and enjoy a few pitchers of Spotted Cow while you waste away the day by the water. For the adventurous, you can rent kayaks, sailboats, and paddle boards through the Hoofers club right next door.

The Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned

23 North Pinckney Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 310-4545

The Old Fashioned exists to pay tribute to the foods and spirits that make our state famous...ie. Brandy Old Fashioneds (sweet for Tara, sour for Carter) & Cheese Curds.

Graze

Graze

1 South Pinckney Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 251-2700

We love Graze - the food is all local and fresh and ABSOLUTELY delicious. While many debate who makes the best cheese curds in Madison, we think that Graze clearly holds the crown. The cocktails aren't half bad either, but we usually don't remember too well how they tasted.

Trolley Pub Madison

Trolley Pub Madison

316 West Washington Avenue, Madison, WI 53715
, (608) 513-3882

The most Wisconsin way to see the city - drinking & driving. Anyone who lives here is familiar with the notorious Trolley Pub riders who have a reputation for doing a bit more drinking than driving - but they definitely know how to have a good time. Take one of their pre-determined routes or create your own!

Henry Vilas Zoo

Henry Vilas Zoo

702 South Randall Avenue, Madison, WI 53715
, (608) 258-9490

The Henry Vilas Zoo is a great way to spend the day with the whole family - the best part is it's 100% Free of charge (until the kids want all the souvenirs).

Tex Tubb's Taco Palace

Tex Tubb's Taco Palace

2009 Atwood Avenue, Madison, WI 53704
, (608) 242-1800

Tex Tubb's is easily our favorite authentic Tex Mex diner. THE BEST pot-of-liquid-gold queso that you will ever have. Also, it will only take one, maybe two, margaritas to do the job...

Essen Haus Restaurant and Bar

Essen Haus Restaurant and Bar

514 East Wilson Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 255-4674

If you are looking for the experience of drinking a lot of beer from a giant, sharable, glass boot, Essen Haus is the place to be. Also equipped with a live polka band and dance floor.

Camp Trippalindee

Camp Trippalindee

601 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 257-6949

Rooftop Bar at the top of the Graduate Hotel at the bottom of State Street, close to campus. Great bar food, great deals, great cocktails, and a great nostalgic camp-themed atmosphere.

Fresco

Fresco

227 State Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 663-7374

Fresco is an upscale rooftop bar on State Street on top of the Overture Center. It overlooks Orpheum Theater, state street, and the beautiful Capitol.
