Our story starts in 2014 when we met in the CLHS marching band. Brett played the trumpet, and I the clarinet. We officially started dating on September 6th, 2016, after rudely declining Brett back in 2015. We managed to stick through six years of long distance, even with going to rival schools! We were able to grow on our own throughout this time, but online school allowed us to visit more frequently in our final years. After college, we moved in together in 2023 into a tiny townhome in College Station with a backyard that Ellie adored. Brett learned to grill, I learned to tolerate the town, and we got to soak in finally sharing a home. But, a few months later, Brett got a new job in Houston, and we moved to Midtown, where we still are today. Since then, we have been exploring the city we grew up in but in a very different setting than the Clear Lake suburbs allowed for. Even with a widespread power outage in Bolivar, Brett proposed at a picnic on the beach at sunset last December. Our friends were there to help celebrate by candlelight, with champagne and charcuterie. We are so excited to get married after more than nine years together, and can't wait to celebrate with all of you!
