Casey and Emy met at Goodman & Company, a CPA firm, in VA...11 years ago. A coworker led Emy around on a tour of the office on her first or second day and she spotted this guy in an argyle sweater vest. "He's so cute," she thought to herself! Well, that cutie ended up being Casey. Casey later started taking notice of this goofy girl limping around the office in a boot. Beaming smiles and goofiness were not the norm around a CPA firm in the middle of busy season. He would strategically walk by her cubicle and try to start up conversations with her, and her bashful self would give him short answers and then immediately turn her back to him to pretend to get back to work with Casey standing there befuddled. Casey was pretty persistent and didn't give up trying to get to know her - thank goodness! Two and half months later, Tax Day 2010, Casey asked Emy on a date, and she said "sure" (only after Casey had to clarify that it was, in fact, a “date”). April 16, 2010 was our first date. We spent the whole day together and shared an amazing first kiss **swoon**. We moved in together a little more than a year later. Furthering our adventure together, we moved out to San Diego in 2013, where we still love to live!

Casey and I participated in the Rugged Maniac obstacle race in the morning of November 17th 2018. After getting cleaned up and relaxing a bit, Casey suggested we head up to Kate Sessions Canyon to walk Cali, catch the sunset, and try to capture a family photo for holiday cards. We walked the canyon and got back up to the top just in time for sun setting. Casey had brought the tripod to try and get a family photo. Casey suggested Emily try and get Cali to do some tricks while he ran back to the tripod to make sure the frame was right. Little did Emily know, it was a ploy to allow Casey time to run back to the backpack to grab the ring. He walked back over to Emily and Cali and proposed right there, next to a beautiful sunset and spectacular views of San Diego, Mission Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. Kate Sessions remains a very special place for us!
