How we met

The First Date

In the technological world we live in today, it only makes sense that we met on an online dating app. This Kansas girl swiped right on a Wisconsin boy that used photos that were 5 years old. It was charming, to say the least but when she saw his smile and heard his laugh that night at The Free House, she knew she found someone that was incredibly special!

The Proposal

Happy Halloween!

Our first vacation out of the country! Jamaica was a phenomenal trip regardless if it was going to cone with a proposal or not! I have told many that I wasnt expecting it, so i wouldn’t be getting my hopes up. We had a candlelight dinner on the beach scheduled and I thought that if he was going to ask anytime during this trip, it would be now. We finished our dessert under the gazebo that we were sitting under and took our last sips of Cabernet. “Lets go for a walk on the beach, help walk the food off.” Guess its not happening in Jamaica, I thought. It was Halloween so the resort had a huge night of events happening that we could hear all along our walk, including a raggae singer on the beach with a bonfire. We reached the end of the beach and stopped to enjoy the water, the stars, and the moment together with no one else around… (with the exception of the security guard in the hut behind us). “Wise men say, Only fools rush in,” I knew the song all too well, with the taste of raggae vibes the man was singing “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You,” by Elvis and Justin asked to dance. Talk about heart melting! The song ends and I realize that im dragging my dress in the sand so before we walked back to the clubhouse I decided to tie up my dress, and his shoe was irritating him so he was fixing that. I turned around and BAM, there was him on one knee and the most stunning ring in his hand. “Will you marry me?” He asked while visibly shaking. I responded with an aggressive, “Shut up, babe! Yes!” We stood there in the best, most cherished embrace for what felt like forever, and Justin noticed that the security guard had turned off his little light in his hut to give us privacy. For those of you who don’t know, my late grandfather loved Elvis, and we consider this was a sign. For the remainder of the trip we were able to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in our lives and we wouldnt change it for the world!
