Greg and I met as students our senior year of high school during 8th period AP Economics. I struggled with concepts from Macroeconomics, meanwhile Gregory prevailed. Knowing so Gregory mustered the courage to start a conversation with me over what my "Book Report" was on. I went on and on how I wanted to show case the invisible hand and how the concept related to college applications. The rest is history! Greg and I started our relationship 10/29/2009 and we will begin our partnership 12/31/2019!
Here's how I asked India to be mine! I like to think of our proposal as being quite spontaneous amongst all the hoops I jumped through in finding the perfect pear cut engagement ring for India. Initially, I had been in contact with various jewelers in South Africa trying to find or get an engagement ring made. With no luck, I had started to give up hope of finding an engagement ring for India during our trip to South Africa in December 2017. On our last day in Johannesburg, I ended up going to Browns Jewellers with my father. Originally to look for a pair of earrings India would like, but instead spotting engagement rings that peaked my interest. After a little Q&A I found out they had two perfect rings but they were located off site. We exchanged details as I hoped to be able to see the rings prior to our evening flight. Fast forward to an hour later my father and I head back to pick India up from my uncle’s house. At this point she thinks we are headed to the airport. My father mentions he needs to make a detour to the mall. To give everyone India’s state of mind, she was already irritated at me for saying she needed new earrings... (I had to cover myself from any suspicious activities). So we get to Browns and the Associate says the two items had arrived and were ready for us to see them. I had India sit down to look at the “earrings” so she could choose her favorite. I think the surprise selections worked and her state of mind changed. India picked her favorite ring. Oh you think I proposed then? Wrongo! I purchased the ring and put it away. India was again furious over the build up in the day. My father dropped us off at the airport. India and I are enjoyed drinks in the airport lounge. I get on one knee and I asked if she would make me the happiest man in the word and marry me. Surprisingly ... She said yes! 12/28/2017 - I became the happiest I have ever been. On the same day just 57 years after my grandparents got engaged - 12/28/1960.
