Sophomore year at Georgetown, poor ol' Nicholas could not get a date to his winter fraternity formal. He (literally) went up to girls on the social floor of the library and, alas, could not rope anyone into going with him. That's when their friend suggested that Nick take Allison to the formal--Allison had known this friend since day 1 of freshman year, and worst case, it'd be a fun time. Now here we are, over 6 years since that night, and Nick and Allison are getting married!!

On October 11, 2020, Nick asked Allison to go to the Chicago aquarium with him. Nothing out of the ordinary, since they love aquariums and were season pass holders. To get her to dress nicely for their "aquarium date," Nick told Allison that after their date they had a surprise birthday dinner for Mac (now a groomsman!). After a long visit at the aquarium, Nick took Allison down Lake Michigan, right outside of the Planetarium--their favorite views of the city. After an awkward 30 minutes (long backstory) of Nick pacing around staring at his phone (which he attributed to his fantasy league football; honestly, a believable excuse), Nick finally got down on one knee, explained that they had no surprise birthday dinner, and that their friends were waiting for them with champagne. It was a night so magical Allison can almost forget the Heat's devastating loss in Game 6 of the NBA Finals that night.
