Above is a link to our picture share site. Please upload any pictures you take at the wedding so that we have many to remember the day! However, get creative because it's a competition. The photographer that snaps our first and second favorite pictures from the wedding will receive a prize! The prize will be mailed a few weeks after the wedding.
Chris and I met by fate freshman year at Mason. We were both lucky enough to have been assigned dorms on the third floor of Wilson, only a few doors down from one another. I lived in a quad with some crazy chicks (Madison Hoyt and Brianna DeWitt - who gave me so many great memories), and Chris lived in a double with a different type of crazy (Kyle - am I right?). I learned in my University 100 class that leaving our door open all day was a great way to meet people on the floor, so we did. Apparently Chris had heard the same thing, because his door was always open, and he was always playing music. I still remember one day, on my way to class, I walked past his door and thought "That kid's cool, and has great taste in music. I have to meet him." While everyone on Wilson 3rd became close friends, Chris and I became best friends. We hung out almost every night and really got to know each other. Despite our feelings for one another, it wasn't until the start of Sophomore year that we started dating, and I guess you could say it has worked out!
It started in August, when Chris surprised me with a trip to Paris for my birthday. We waited four painful months, and finally boarded our flight to Paris! While in Paris, we visited many of the typical tourist spots, but had a nice dinner planned for mid-week on Wednesday. Chris mentioned that there was a cool wine museum across town, so, he made a reservation for a wine tasting before our dinner. On our way to the tasting Chris mentioned that there was a pretty statue off the bridge we were on, and thought it would be a great photo op. He asked the Uber driver to pull off and let us out at the statue. The wine museum was just a block or two away, so Chris told me we could walk the rest of the way. I was fine with that, I didn't even mind because he was right- this was a beautiful spot and I was soaking up all of its glory. We walked to the edge of the bridge and Chris asked a women to snap a picture of us, and handed her his phone. She snapped a quick pic and with shaky hands, Chris turned towards me. He said some awesome stuff (for me to know and for you to never find out ;) and knelt down on one knee. I couldn't see the ring through my tears, and of course I said "Oui, Oui!" That lovely lady turned out to be a hired photographer, who took all of our engagement photos. I don't know what I did to deserve such an amazing proposal, but I'll take it!
