Chad and Amanda met in 2004 when Chad came off the football field and Amanda was finishing up cheer practice. As most high schools relationships work, the two dated for about a year, up until Amanda graduated. For ten years, Chad and Amanda never contacted one another as they embarked on their own early adulthood. When word got out that Amanda finally moved home from Florida, Chad took a leap of faith and reached out via Facebook to try and rekindle their relationship. After knowing each other for half their lives, they're finally ready to tie the knot.
Every year, Chad and Amanda take a cruise together (and sometimes with friends) to just disconnect from the everyday life they have. In 2019, Chad had the idea to propose while on their cruise to Aruba. The first formal night, Chad's goal was to finish dinner...take a walk to bow of the boat...and propose in a more intimate setting. He asked Amanda to take a walk under the stars and instead, Amanda wanted to put on her pjs and crawl in to bed for night. With Amanda saying no to his original plan...Chad had to improvise. As Chad and Amanda start to walk back to their cabin after dinner, a photographer was at the top of the stairs taking photos. Chad convinced Amanda to take a few shots of them in their formal attire....and after a few poses with the photographer, Chad got down on one knee...in front of hundreds of people, and asked Amanda to be his wife. The rest of the cruise was to celebrate their engagement!
