“You’re very pretty.” The words slipped out in the pediatric unit at Cabell Huntington Hospital, the place that quietly became the backdrop of their story. In that moment, it was as if Kimberly had been truly seen for the first time. The words startled even Jordan, uncharacteristically bold for her to say to someone she had only just met, as if the moment had pulled honesty from her lips before she could stop to think about it. The air between them shifted, alive with a spark that felt impossible to name. Passing each other in the hallway was enough to set butterflies loose, like magnets pulling them toward the life they were meant to build together. At the time, Kimberly was a CNA and Jordan was a medical student. The chemistry was undeniable, but the timing was not yet theirs. Life carried them in different directions, as if the universe knew they still had miles to walk, storms to weather, and lessons to learn before they could find one another again. Years passed. Jordan matched into pediatrics and began residency, while Kimberly graduated and stepped into her role as an RN. Along the way, they each endured their share of heartbreak and challenges that shaped them, strengthened them, and prepared them for the love they deserved. Then, one night in that same pediatric unit, at that same nurses’ station, the universe nudged again. This time, the timing was theirs. This time, there was no hesitation, no unfinished edges, only the clarity of two souls finding their way home. A simple exchange over a handful of Hershey’s Kisses turned into laughter, stories, and a conversation that neither of them wanted to end. “You’re very pretty” turned into something so much more than a passing moment. It became home. It became the unconditional love that neither of them thought could exist in this world. Together, they have shown one another that true love is kind, comforting, supportive, and easy. They have learned that home is not a place, but rather a person. What began as a spark in a hospital hallway will carry them forward into forever. On May 30th, 2026, Jordan and Kimberly will say “I do,” surrounded by those they love most. J&K Forever & for Always
