Lake Wapello State Park

Stay overnight in one of 13 family cabins or at the park’s campground. One cabin is ADA accessible. All cabins can sleep up to four people and contain a restroom, shower, stove and oven, microwave and a refrigerator. Two cabins are open year-round and the other cabins are available from April through October. Lake Wapello’s campground contains full hook-up, electric and non-electric sites near the lake with modern showers and restrooms nearby. Approximately 15 minutes from the wedding venue.

Camping is available in the center of the city, amidst 340 acres of green space and lagoons. The Ottumwa campgrounds provide the ideal spot for enjoying the outdoors with picnic tables, shelters, fireplaces, tennis courts, playground equipment, and more. Nearby is the Des Moines River and adjacent Wapello County Trails. All camping is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sorry, no registrations are taken. No tents are allowed within the RV section of the campground. Campers can use the shower house with restrooms and dumping station. WiFi is available. Some policies subject to change for special events. Approximately 17 minutes from the wedding venue.

The newly renovated campground now has 19 full hook-up sites, a new showerhouse, and a playground. Rates: Full Hookup: $32/night, Primitive: $20/night. Campsite reservations are ONLINE ONLY. Online payment is required prior to setup. Campsites have a NO REFUND policy. Approximately 8 minutes from the wedding venue.
