We met after work at a coffee shop at Irving Plaza — planning a quick, polite, “seeing if you’re normal and look like your profile photo” 30-minute meet-and-greet. Instead, we talked until the baristas started wiping down tables and silently begging us to leave. Within a month or two, we both kind of knew there was something there. Then came the pandemic — which, for most couples, was a stress test. For us? It was a full-blown relationship bootcamp. We moved in together, learned to brew our own wine, renovated the house, tackled complicated electrical projects we probably had no business doing, built furniture from the half standing broken fence in the backyard and started gardening. Somehow, through all the chaos, dust, questionable wiring, and far too many Home Depot runs… we realized we are a great team. Our mutual love of traveling and running — including Berlin and Chicago Marathons. We realize we are both made for a life full of big adventures, long dinners drinking wine with friends and family and a whole lot of laughter. We genuinely love basking in each other’s energy (even at mile 22). And now on to another chapter of love connection and laughter. Marriage.
