The Beginning Becky was ready to give up on dating apps when Jeff connected with her on not one, but two different apps. After a month of messaging and no date, she was convinced he was too good to be true - handsome, smart, funny and well traveled. It turns out, Jeff was real, just bouncing around the globe for a new job and in the middle of moving to Charlotte from Sweden with a pit-stop in Asheville. For our first date, over a month after that first message, Jeff took Becky to mini golf at the Puttery. It was a good. Good turned to great, though, when they decided to continue the date at a brewery and talked the night away over the city's rail-trail. From then on, Becky made it her mission to be Jeff's personal Charlotte tour guide, showing him everything great about their city. Life in Fast-Forward First weekend getaway: Becky’s family cabin in the North Carolina mountains. It was chillier and rainier than planned (as usual for up there), but they still hiked to the top of Max Patch along the Appalachian trail. Travels: Punta Cana ➜ Beaufort ➜ Boston & Newport ➜ Denver ➜ Boise ➜ Beaufort (again) ➜ Las Vegas ➜ Chapel Hill ➜ Boone ➜ Montana ➜ and soon, Italy, Harry Potter Universe, and Salt Lake City November: Jeff and Annie, his perfect corgi, moved in; Becky's golden retriever Maple tentatively approved. The Yes Moment Memorial Day weekend 2025, back at Max Patch on the most beautiful evening, Jeff proposed at sunset— this time with dogs underfoot and family with champagne nearby — and Becky said yes.
