FAQs

Question

Will I have to wear a mask?

Answer

At this time, all guests will be required to wear masks/face coverings during the ceremony at the church and at the reception venue. Masks may be removed when eating/drinking. Families/parties will be seated together and socially distanced from other guests. Thank your for your understanding as we work together to make this a safe event for all attending.

Question

What safety precautions are in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19?

Answer

Both the church and reception venue have several safety practices in place to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. The church is sanitized following each event in the sanctuary. Families/parties will be seated together and socially distanced from other guests. The reception venue uses a fogging machine to disinfect the event space and air ventilation before and after each event. Families/parties will be seated together and socially distanced from others. All food and beverage service will be served to guests by venue wait staff wearing appropriate PPE gear, and sanitizing stations will be available throughout the venue. Both indoor and outdoor accommodations are available to help with social distancing.

Question

Is there parking available at the church and reception venue?

Answer

Yes! There is plenty of free parking available at both the church and the reception venue. If you drive to the reception and decide to partake in the open bar, please know that there are Uber, Lyft and taxi services available for all guests in the area.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We're getting dressed up and we ask that you do too! We recommend semi-formal attire (suits and ties for the gents and dresses for the ladies). We'll be happy that you're celebrating with us, no matter what you're wearing - but please, at least wear some clothing ;).

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely! We love kiddos and are excited to celebrate with our friends and family of all ages. We know big celebrations like this can be tiring on little ones, so please know there are cry rooms available at the church if needed and we will have special kid-themed activities at the reception to keep your tiny tots occupied during those long speeches.

Question

How far is the church from the reception venue?

Answer

The church and reception venue are less than 2 miles driving distance from one another. All recommended hotels are within a 1 to 5 mile radius of both locations as well - we wanted to keep things close and convenient for all of our out of town guests!

Question

Will I be able to catch the Nebraska v. Ohio State football game?

Answer

Depending on the time of the game, there are several locations very close to the church and reception venue to watch the Huskers play. There will be a gap between the ceremony from 3-5 p.m. if it is an afternoon kickoff. Check out Tanner's Bar and Grill, The Ainsworth (right nextdoor to ALOFT hotel), Johnny's Tavern, Callahan's (a Husker bar) and the ALOFT Hotel patio deck - all are super close to both locations! #GBR
