Dress code is morning dress or lounge suit (interpret this for women however you like). Big hats are extremely welcome. The Garden Party will be on the Archbishop's Palace lawn (weather permitting) so please ensure you have appropriate footwear. There will be a ceilidh at the Wedding Breakfast so bring your dancing shoes.
The wedding service begins at 1400 in the quire, so please be seated by 1345. The ushers will help direct you to your seats in the quire and aisles when you arrive.
Unfortunately we have limited space at the wedding breakfast, so we have only been able to invite some family and overseas guests' children.
Yes, please use the dietary requirements box on the RSVP page or email us any queries.
Yes, a coach shuttle will be doing a pre-wedding pick-up from the Newark Travelodge on Beaumond Cross at 1300, arriving at Southwell at 1330. A shuttle will be returning to Newark Town Hall at 1730 from Southwell (Church Street entrance) for the Wedding Breakfast. Please indicate if you need a seat on the coach on the RSVP page. You can always add this information once you have booked your hotel, just put your name back in to the RSVP page.
Z Cars Southwell http://thinkzcars.com/ or Minster Cabs. We strongly recommend you book a taxi in advance if you need to return from Newark to Southwell in the evening.
There is a short-stay pay and display car park in Southwell on Church Street opposite the Minster. There are several options for parking in Newark, those closest are probably the NCP and Asda car parks on Lombard Street.
Yes please! Make sure you use the hashtag #beckward2022 if posting on social media. Please do not take photos or film during the service until directed to do so.
Your presence at our wedding is all we ask, but if you would like to give a gift, please use the link on the "Gift List" page.
Drinks and canapés will be served at the Garden Party and there will be lots of wine at the Wedding Breakfast. There should be enough to drink, but there is a bar at the Town Hall for anything else which isn’t provided.
The service booklet will explain the running order, just follow the instructions of when to stand up and when to sing the hymns. You don't need to participate in anything else. Be prepared for some epic music from the organists and choir! General rule is, don't clap at the end of the music.
