How did they meet?

•••

Harley and Bradley had unknowingly crossed paths at MTSU and at various local concerts/shows. In December 2021, they began talking and would spend hours daily texting, messaging each other on FB messenger, snapchatting, and verbally talking on the phone - an uncommon occurrence for both. Their conversations ranged from games (video, card, and board) and memes to music and art. Harley and Bradley would often delve into deeper subjects, exploring the intricacies of personal spiritual beliefs, moral perspectives, and personal goals for the future. Remarkably, even in those early days, a shared certainty emerged—an unspoken understanding that their futures were destined to be intertwined. On their first date, Harley found herself captivated by Bradley's undeniable charm and adorable demeanor. Bradley, like Harley, was a mix of nerves and excitement, both eager to delve deeper into the realms of their burgeoning connection. As the two cozied up on the couch that night, they watched "Midsommar" followed by "Big Fish." Bradley was intrigued by Harley's choice for the second movie. It turned out to be a heartfelt and sentimental story that reminded her of her late grandfather. After the second movie, Harley talked more about her grandfather and childhood; Bradley interjecting with anecdotes from his own childhood. The act of sharing this movie and these stories left them both with a warm sense of gratitude.

February 13, 2022

•••

On this day at Hawker's Asian Street Food in Nashville, Harley and Bradley found themselves in that familiar yet exciting limbo—waiting for a table, hand in hand, phones clutched in the other. Naturally, they scrolled through social media in search of the latest memes to pass the time. Amid the casual ambiance, Harley had a burning desire to broach a more serious turn in their relationship and make things official. Wrestling with how to navigate this moment, she decided to employ a contemporary twist: a Facebook Relationship Status request. As they stood in line, intertwined hands and all, Harley hit 'send' and fixed her gaze on Bradley, a goofy grin playing on her lips. The anticipation hung in the air until Bradley's phone chimed with a notification. Looking up from their screen, they met Harley's eyes and sealed the moment with a kiss. In the world of social media, it was now Facebook official—a declaration that, according to the unwritten rules, solidified their relationship in the most contemporary and undeniable way. After all, in the age of Facebook, it doesn't get more real than that.

The Proposal

•••

One October evening in 2022 while Bradley and Harley were hanging out playing PlayStation 5, Bradley interjected, "You know, I've never formally proposed to you. We just kind of started making plans." With those words hanging in the air, Bradley rose to one knee, hands clasped in Harley's. In a heartfelt moment, they asked Harley to be their forever. With an enthusiastic "Hell yeah!" escaping her lips, they sealed the pact with a kiss, marking the official beginning of their journey towards marriage.

The Day

•••

On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Harley and Bradley will set off to Chattanooga, TN to be married by Jack Brunson.* Following the nuptials, the newlyweds will venture back to Murfreesboro to have a special dinner with close friends and family. From the very beginning of their relationship, Harley and Bradley vowed to uphold values of transparency, authenticity, and honesty. Although the idea of a grand wedding ceremony surrounded by loved ones warmed their hearts, the couple have decided to take a different route, one that resonated more with their individual styles and principles. They seek a stress-free and intimate day, where each precious moment could be savored without the blur of a bustling celebration. On the following day, Harley and Bradley will travel to a romantic honeymoon set in the vibrant city of New Orleans. Despite the expectations of some family and friends for a traditional wedding, the couple, appreciating the grandeur but facing economic constraints, has opted for a more personal celebration.
