What is the closest Airport?
Answer
The closest major airport is Pittsburg (PIT) which is about 90 minutes away. We may be able to arrange one pickup on Friday afternoon for anyone flying to this airport who needs a ride. Please let us know if that is the case so that we can make arrangements. It’s about a 3 hour drive from BWI/Other DC airports, but the drive is really pretty!

Check out our Lodgings page! We have one hotel with a room block at a discounted rate (Suites at Silver Tree), just tell them you are booking for the Shatto-Leigh wedding. There are lots of other options around as well, depending on what you are looking for. Reach out with any questions!

What is the parking situation for the wedding?
Answer
Because it is a public state park, the parking is limited and unpredictable. There is a $5 fee per car (which we will cover), just let them know you are there for the wedding. Carpooling is highly encouraged. If you are looking for a ride, we have many people who have offered spots in their vehicles - so please do not hesitate to reach out!

What is the dress code?
Answer
We will be hiking during this wedding! The trail is not difficult, but a little rocky. Comfortable footwear is encouraged. It may be slightly cooler than expected in the evening due to the altitude. Other than that, dress however you want!

How long / difficult is the trail?
Answer
1.25 miles if you do the whole loop. Pretty easy with very little elevation gain, but a little rocky. You do not have to hike the entire loop if you do not want to. We will be emailing a Hand Dandy Trail Map with the invitation that shows the route and different stops of the ceremony. (Download to your phone for safe keepings!)

Is the reception outside?
Answer
Yes! Reception is at the Swallow Falls Pavilion (can’t miss it, right at the parking lot / trailhead). The game hour will be on the lawn around the pavilion, dinner and dancing inside the pavilion. Fingers crossed for good weather!

What is the ‘Game Hour’?

The Game Hour is our spin on a traditional cocktail hour. There will be drinks and appetizers available, but plenty of yard games and activities for all while we kick off the celebration!
