Adam & Becki met as teenagers in 4-H. Fortunately, because they completed different projects, they weren’t in direct competition and could help each other throughout the fair. Their first time hanging out, Adam helped Becki walk her show lambs. Becki would help Adam in the “Coke Stand”, and he would come watch her public speaking contest. After high school, Adam moved to Lafayette to be near other friends, and they started hanging out more. They began dating in 2003. Two years later, Adam went to dog training school and Becki spent a semester in Brazil. Long distance relationships are hard, and they broke up. During that time, they lived different places, made new friends, developed new relationships, and had new experiences. When they both ended these relationships around the same time, they were brought back together by a mutual friend. It was like they hadn’t missed a beat-three days after hanging out again, they decided they were ready to give it another try. That was December 2012. They both have a passion for traveling and indulging in new experiences. Their adventures took them to New Orleans, Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. After several trips to New Orleans, they decided it was somewhere they’d like to live. Dog rescue is in high need, and the population is full of dog lovers. So after a year and a half of planning, they moved to their lives to New Orleans. Experiencing life together in a new place where you don’t know anyone truly is a bonding and humbling experience. Adam & Becki want to continue their adventures together, and decided in the spring of 2019 to get married.
