Olivia was invited to her first event since moving to Colorado Springs. Her friend & now bridesmaid, Kelsey, invited her to get ready for a halloween party at her house. When Olivia walked through the door and made her way to the living room, she saw a man with boxers and tights on. She politely said hi and he explained he was being a grandma for Halloween. Jordan drove Olivia and two other friends to the party that evening. For the next year, they went on camping adventures, hikes, went to holiday parties, and were a part of a bible study group together. Their friendship continued to form, and a year later, Jordan made the first move.
After Olivia had gone home to Michigan for a week followed by Glacier in Montana, Jordan asked if she would like to get coffee. Not thinking anything of it, Olivia said yes, and they spent an evening catching up over some hibiscus tea at Loyal Coffee. Jordan finally brought up he had feelings for Olivia and wanted to pursue her. Over the course of the next week, Jordan and Olivia went on several coffee dates to discuss dating and a couple of reservations. At the end of that week, Olivia told Jordan she just wanted to be friends. Several weeks later, Olivia had second thoughts and brought it back up to Jordan. They decided to go on a couple of dates and pursue each other intentionally. One year later, J got down on one knee.
Jordan and Olivia met at 2pm on Olivia's birthday to go for a hike up north in Larkspur. They decided to try a new place called Spruce Mountain. Little did Olivia know, Jordan had been there a couple days before to scout out a good spot. They made their way to the top, had a picnic with a charcuterie board and a small glass of wine, and watched the sunset together. Over a year ago, Jordan had given Olivia a journal to be able to process on paper while dating, ask questions, and encourage each other with bible versus. A year later, Jordan wrote a sweet note to Olivia on her birthday and read it while they watched the sunset together. After the sunset, they were taking self-timer pictures when he pulled her aside and got down on one knee. She obviously said a resounding yes! (Fun fact: Jordan had been sick with Mono for the month and a half leading up to the proposal and this was the first time kissing in over 30 days!). After they hiked back down, Jordan told Olivia they had reservations and had to hurry. They quickly got ready and decided to swing by her sister's house. When they opened the door, all their closest friends and family were inside, including Olivia's parents and brother and sister-in-law who had come from Michigan and Georgia to surprise her. A surprise well done indeed.
