How They Met

01.29.2017

In true millennial fashion, Danielle & Justin met on a dating app. Hinge. Danielle went to college with someone Justin went to high school with and the app put them in touch. To be honest, neither of them were really friends with the "hinge", but are glad that "hinge" existed nonetheless. Justin asked Danielle on a brunch date and went all the way to the Upper East Side of Manhattan, even though he lived in East Village, to make it easy for Danielle to get into the city, who lived in Queens at the time. In trying to make it easy for Danielle, Justin almost screwed up plans by telling Danielle the name of the wrong restaurant. Luckily, Danielle confirmed the restaurant before their date and Justin didn't send Danielle to the wrong place and never to be seen again. Danielle thought the date went well, but wasn't sure what Justin was feeling, so actually set up a date with someone else later that week. Meanwhile, Justin was thinking that Danielle checked all of the boxes, except for sports, which he figured could be worked on. After their date Justin reached out to Danielle to say what a good time he had and ask about a second date. Luckily, for Justin, Danielle decided to cancel the other date, and we know where this story goes from there: Danielle became a fan of the Super Bowl winning Eagles franchise!

The Proposal

03.30.2019

Justin started making plans earlier this year, after he told his family that he wanted to propose to Danielle. He had to be very sneaky to keep Danielle off of the trail and not hint at any ideas to his plans. This was not so easy for Justin, as Danielle continued to drop LOTS of not so subtle hints, that turned into statements, to understand when he was going to "get off the pot". Justin gave Danielle very vague answers, which Danielle was definitely NOT happy with, but in the meantime Justin had snuck home to get the ring, snuck out to LI to meet with her parents, and plan a day he thought would be special for both of them. Justin picked the Carl Schurz Park to propose, as the two shared many memories and picnics there before in their UES neighborhood. With everything going to plan (mostly), and Danielle not knowing what was going to happen, the two were able to share a very special moment together in the park, that was captured in photos for them to cherish and remember forever. Justin, finally (in Danielle's mind), got down on his knee and asked Danielle if she would make him the happiest man and spend the rest of her life with him.
