- Walk or rent bikes to take on the trail that goes around Ladybird Lake - Peter Pan Mini Golf (around since 1948!) - Walk around Pease Park (must visit Malin, the 18-foot troll, and lay on the net in the treehouse sphere! Kids will also love this. Also for kids: ride the Zilker Eagle train in Zilker Park.) - Shopping on South Congress Ave (Prima Dora, Big Top Candy Shop, Allens Boots. American Drifter (on S 1st Ave a short walk away) is a great curated thrift store. While most of this street has gone commercial in the last 5 years, there are still some gems.) - Other fun shops around town: BookPeople (huge bookstore), Waterloo Records, Atown (and ToyJoy across the street!), Room Service Vintage, Uncommon Objects - Ladybird Wildflower Center - LBJ Museum (a favorite!) - Blanton Museum - Bullock Texas State Museum - Laguna Gloria or Umlauf (both outdoor sculpture museums) - Mt Bonnell (great views, tons of stairs!) - Alamo Drafthouse (A movie theater with food & drinks brought to your seat during the movie.
