I first met Rebecca during Super Bowl LI - New England Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons. I knew from the moment I met her that she was a very special girl. The next weekend I got invited to go swing dancing with her and a friend and obviously I made sure to line up so that I got be her dancing partner...I was a terrible dancer, but that night I really didn’t care as long as I got to dance with her. That evening I walked her to her car and asked her for her phone number and we started growing as friends, going on very long walks, eating Insomnia cookies, and skipping workouts.... After a couple months of getting to know one another she let me take her out on our first date at O’Charleys....I know it’s an unconventional date spot, but she said she wanted to go somewhere with really good bread/rolls haha (that and I had a 20% off coupon). And then we took in a few Disney movies afterwards. Everyone I know, even to this day, says I’m outta my league here and they’re absolutely right. Even so, I must’ve done something right, because she did say yes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - J
Today was nothing short of special. Josh treated me to what I just thought would be a normal date with lots of pasta and bread at Olive Garden and a walk around the River Walk as we like to do. Little did I know at the end of this walk it would end up with Josh on one knee and my friends hiding in the bushes. However, that bench we walked to on our walk was no normal bench. It was the same bench we went to when I was nervous and anxious about him moving away for his first job while I had to stay to finish school. It was there he told me he would come back for me, and that I had nothing to worry about. He assured me of God's promises to us, and that if it was in His will for us to come together as husband and wife then it will be. Today, he proposed promising to continue to make God the center of our relationship and to be each others best friends for the rest of our days. I cried, said yes, and am so overwhelmed with love in my heart. - R
