Maid of Honor
Everyone, meet my Maid of Honor! I have known Kathryn since middle school. Throughout the years, we've been teammates, coworkers, hiking buddies, fellow book lovers and partners in crime. Oddly enough, she has a lot of characteristics that mirror those of my fiancé, like her hate of olives and love of procrastination. She is basically another sister of mine and has always been there for me. We even shared custody of our pet hamster, Gus Gus, who, when he died, Kath thought it would be best to store in her mom's freezer for the better part of a year. She has plenty of gross vet med stories that she can share with you at the wedding.
Best Man
Cody has been my best bud since grade 6. Throughout middle school and high school we would play video games till 6 in the morning, go camping and quadding with his family, and work together at McDonalds until graduation. I see him as my brother and his family as my own. Its because of him and his family that I found my love for the outdoors and I'm very thankful to have him, his mom (Myrna), dad (Aaron) and grandparents (Flora and Bob Scott). I'm sure they have many stories they would share of mine and Cody's shenanigans.
Bridesmaid
I met Brooklyn during our senior year of high school. We were in a lot of the same classes, and I think we bonded through our mutual hatred of Math. Although I've only known her a few years I can now say she is one of my best friends. Now she lives in Victoria, BC, but she still comes back to visit (and I think we harass her every time we see her to move back home). Her hobbies include going to the gym and playing musical bingo on Mondays. She also has a new profound love of country music (especially Morgan Wallen), so if you want to see her on the dance floor, request some country songs.
Groomsman
Konnor is my twin brother so technically my closest friend. We have known each other the longest out of all my friends. He is the funniest and kindest guy I know which may be biased since we are twins (basically the same...). He is a recent dad of two with his wife Maria who have become very close to me and Becca. We enjoy spending as much time as we can with them and their boys Logan and Bennett, and watching them grow up. If you bump into Konnor you can ask him about his game he is working on called Rodent Retribution which is very epic.
Bridesmaid
Chantal is my older sister. With a 6-year difference, I was always the annoying younger sister who wanted to hang out with her and her friends. Even though we couldn't be more different, we have grown a lot closer over the years, and I am very thankful for that. Chantal has a pretty big obsession with Harry Potter and might want to sort you into your Harry Potter house if you're engaged in conversation for long enough. It is crazy seeing your sister become a mom, but she's done an amazing job and gave me my first niece and nephew (Sophie and Austin).
Groomsman
My oldest brother. Jayden has been my role model growing up throughout middle and high school and could be argued that I copied him throughout those years. Working at McDonalds after him and then the sawmill. I often looked to him for his wise brotherly advice, which he may or may not have known. We often play video games and board games together with him and his girlfriend Kim, which I always wish we could do more of considering how much time and passion they have put into their Warhammer collection and figure painting. If you love boardgames and movies, Jayden is your go-to guy for a conversation.
Bridesmaid
Melissa I met when I was only 12 years old, and now she is my sister-in-law! She has definitely been a role model to me because she is not only kind to everyone she meets, but she is also smart and beautiful, and I knew I wanted to grow up to be like her. She is great at coming up with puns or quips that you'll try not to laugh at but ultimately will and her sourdough-making skills are probably unmatched. If you want someone to party with you until 3 am then she's your girl!
Groomsman
Sammy is my most recent friend that I met during my College diploma at NAIT in our Forest Technology program. Sam has the aura to make you feel like a better person from just being around him and his laugh and positive vibes made him an easy candidate to be one of my groomsmen. We are always there for each other to vent and when the Oilers are in the playoffs he is my go to guy to go to the watch parties with. Honestly, Sam is great to talk to about anything but if you feel like talking about The Witcher 3, raves or random mushroom facts, then he is your guy.
Flower Girl
This is my niece Sophie, she is my only niece, so she was the prime candidate for our flower girl, but her cuteness did come into play. She loves reading stories, playing dress up, and her favourite colour is pink. I think she definitely gets her girlyness from both her aunties. Hopefully, her adorableness will not steal too much of my spotlight on the big day.
Ring Bearer
James is my oldest nephew and is going to be 4 years old! He has such a cute giggle and smile and I'm very happy to have him be part of our special day. You will most likely spot him with Jayden or Jayden's girlfriend, Kim. This will be James' first wedding so I'm sure he will love all the attention from being our Ring bearer. Be sure to give him a wave or a high five as he will be very excited to be there.
