Like many a modern love story, we met on a dating app. For our first date, we got ube lattes at a Filipino cafe since Becca doesn't drink much -- on a Monday at 8pm, Xuerui sporting his usual "uniform" and a MongoDB backpack. We sat and talked about a shared love of Avatar the Last Airbender, trapezing, long-distance running, and whatever else was on our minds. To this day, our night-time caffeine runs continue (more bubble tea than coffee), and some of our hobbies have changed over these past three years, but the friendship and connection we shared that day persists every day.
