Maid of Honor
Lexy and I met in 8th grade, after moving middle schools 4 times in three years I was quite tired of making new friends! Once Lexy and I started talking in photography class though, we never stopped and I made a best friend for life. We have been friends for 18 years, and have remained in touch even after Lexy moved back to Germany. We have always counted on each other for advice and helped each other through countless love life hardships from our teen years to adulthood. We have traveled to Italy, Portugal, and Iceland together and hope to keep that going with our partners in the future! Lexy is someone I can always count on and who will listen to me and be there for me no matter what she is in the middle of!

Tam was my first friend at Janelia, when I wanted to eat lunch alone each days she insisted that I meet her friends and once I did I made friends for life! Tam is always there for me if I need advice, she is also the person I go to if I need someone to tell me the complete hard truth no matter how hard it is to hear. She will also be the first to tell me my outfit looks terrible if I ask, and I really appreciate that! Tam is an amazing friend, mother and writer and I can't imagine a wedding without her by my side!

Carmen and I first became gym buddies at Janelia. We motivated each other to make it through HIIT, lifting, and sometimes even running. We hope to one day have matching 5 packs. Carmen has helped Johan and I countless times being she is the handiest person either of us have ever met! But she helped us with life decisions as well and not just MANY car troubles. We have been friends since before Johan and I got together, and one could even say she had a hand in us starting our relationship. Carmen and Zach are wonderful friends and we hope they always remain in our lives!

I met Anacris after being friends with her now husband, Jan, our officiant, for 7 years. When I first met her in Spain I thought she was very stylish and very quiet, but soon she moved to Janelia and I got to her know much better! She became the most wonderful friend, always willing to offer her help and input. Anacris is always very giving and shows interest in her friends' lives. Her and Jan were a huge part of our time as a couple at Janelia, we had wonderful dinner dates, drank a lot of good wine, and made some fantastic beer together. We are excited they are both a big part of our day and our lives!

Katie is the bridesmaid I have known for the least amount of time and yet she is so special to me! I am fortunate to have such a great and selfless friend. Katie and I have baked delicious cakes and what should have been cake pops but turned out to be cake balls, together. We enjoyed this but also going to the gym together.

Laura has also known Johan and I since before the start of our relationship. She is a very genuine and caring friend, and probably the best drinking buddy I could have (except for that time with all the wine.) Laura brought a lot of british-ness and craziness to our friend group. I love that her and I can have mindless and funny conversations but also talk about the more serious things in life.
