Fred and Becca met on an Outing Club hiking trip at the University of New Hampshire. The two started chatting, and connected over engineering and an obvious love for the outdoors. For the remainder of their time in college, Fred and Becca enjoyed countless hikes and time abroad on weekends and school breaks. After college, the couple spent one year in Portland, ME before embarking on a cross-country roadtrip of hiking and trail running with their dog, Porter. After enjoying a few months of nomadic bliss, they lived in Durham, NH for three years. The two continued to travel, and visited Washington state, Greece, Germany, Mauritius, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria before they decided the flight to Europe was too long. As a result, they moved to Bochum, Germany on January 1st, 2020 with cat and dog in tow. They continue to live for fresh air, trails, and travel.
Fred proposed by a waterfall at the base of the Squam Range Traverse in Sandwich, NH. Porter, their dog, served as the witness. They made a pit stop at Lone Wolfe Brewing before returning to Kittery, ME for dinner at their favorite restaurant.
They moved to Germany in January 2020 because Fred found a great job opportunity, and it fit well into their plans to travel more before "settling down". They have an extra room in Bad Hindelang and visitors are always welcome!
