We met July of 2011 at The University of Alabama, the summer before our senior year. How we hadn't met each other earlier was astounding, as we had many of the same friends. We were introduced at The Red Shed Bar where we danced together. We ended up spending the next day floating down the river with friends where we hooked our inner-tubes together and talked the whole time. I didn't think he was actually going to be into me, so I let myself play with a frog I had found. But Frankie got me. He suggested, in all seriousness, that we get a terrarium for my "new friend". We had our first official date at Bento Sushi, where we both ordered the "Over 21 Roll" - which claimed to include "Japanese Martinis." As we clinked our glasses and drank away, we realized we were actually drinking pure soy sauce! It was a very fitting start. After a movie and time hanging out with some of his family members and our friends, right then and there I could see the future. After the first week I told my best friend I believed I'd found "the one". We couldn't stop spilling all the secrets and stories of our lives to each other. We were inseparable. I knew for absolute certain when I became ill with a nasty kidney infection. I was at my worst, completely physically breaking down, having panic attacks over getting an IV and fainting on the nurse. Frankie stepped in and took care of me like it was the most obvious and natural thing to do. I had barely known this person for 2 weeks but he was now my everything, and I seemed to be his. That was it. It's when I knew I would trust and love this caring, hilarious, smart, crazy, handsome man for the rest of my life. Since then, our joys and obstacles have been experienced and shared together. I couldn't imagine going through this life without my favorite person. I'm so grateful to love and be loved by Frankie. I'm becoming a Grooss!
I met Becca right before my senior year of college. My pledge brother told me he had a feeling that I would really like his good friend. He said she was beautiful, funny, nice, and unique, but didn't really know it. I met her and she seemed skeptical, and even left after we had a drink together, but she came back and gave me a chance. We talked, hung out, and clicked right away. We went down the Cahaba river the next day, then got Krystal burgers and watched Tommy Boy. We didn't stop hanging out for more than for a few hours every day after that. It was just right, and we both knew it. I'm happy to say that it has continued to feel right for over 6 years. I love this little nugget, and am happy to spend the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.
