Shopping, people watching, eating, state street is a great place to start your Madison trip! Buy UW gear from the bookstore, and get lost in Becca’s favorite bookstore - Paul’s bookstore. Other favorite shops — little luxuries, anthology, and madison modern market. Make it all the way up to the Capitol square for great eats like Lucille’s, Tavernakaya and The Old Fashioned.
The Madison Farmer’s Market is one of a kind! We love going on the earlier side - before 9 on Saturday’s to avoid the college crowd. Stella’s hot cheesy bread is a must try; but be prepared to wait in line for a bit. There’s tons of fresh produce, bakery treats, honey, hot sauce, and gorgeous flower bouquets. Sit on the lawn of the Capitol to enjoy your treats!
Make a reservation! Our absolute favorite date night spot. This gem is over on the East side of Madison, our favorites entrees from the menu are the bolognese and carbonara, but you really can’t go wrong with anything from Bar Corallini. You can also head in for a delicious brunch!
UW has an extensive arboretum; walk, bike, or drive through and explore! This is where we got our engagement photos taken.
Willy street is over on the East side of Madison, closer to our house. It houses our absolute favorite bakery, and the ones doing our wedding cake — Batch Bakery. Cafe Domestique is right next door for a coffee to go with your pastries. Elliot loves Lazy Jane’s Cafe too. Becca’s favorite thrift shops are also on this cute street. Checkout Stillgood’s, Kool Things, and St. Vincent De Paul “St Vinny’s.” It’s also a short walk to some beautiful lake views.
