Best Man
Brandon and I met playing intramural baseball the summer before 9th grade. One of my first memories of Brandon was him making a miraculous catch in centerfield during a game in which I was struggling on the pitcher's mound. It was incredible and I remember running out and hugging him for the catch (I already had given up at least 4 runs that inning, so I was very appreciative of his efforts). Since then, we have made countless memories together whether it be related to student council, ski trips (both in high school and now as adults), shenanigans during class senior year, and all the amazing trips when visiting him and Tiffany in Seattle.

Kyle and I met during high school and connected quickly over our love of sports. Kyle definitely has me beat on the baseball skills, but I'd argue I have him beat on Madden and 1 on 1 basketball played on streets of Foxridge, Blacksburg, VA. One of my favorite "fun facts" to share at miscellaneous ice breakers is the time I won money playing wiffleball. That wiffleball team included our ace Kyle, who could pitch the ball and make it dance like nothing I've ever seen. We finished in 2nd place which I think is pretty impressive considering we were a bunch of high school students going up against adults who were using aluminum bats.

Jake and I met during our time at Kimley-Horn. One of my first interactions with Jake happened soon after he moved to Virginia Beach. There was a house warming party in his neighborhood and he invited me over to pregame it. When it was time to head over to the party, Jake suggested we bring a Coors for the walk over to the condo. I'd say we've grown up from pre-gaming house warming parties and slamming Coors as we walk up the door, but honestly the only difference between now and then is that we'd probably be drinking Truly's or a craft beer nowadays. One of my top golf buddies, Jake has always been a blast to hang out with and does an amazing job of making any social interaction fun for everybody in attendance.

Mark and I started out as coworkers at Kimley-Horn, but soon became close friends. During the early part of our friendship, we spent a lot of time hanging out at the Virginia Beach oceanfront bars at night and the beach during the day. So many fun memories from the trips we've been on: beach trip to Myrtle Beach, bar hopping in Fort Lauderdale, OSU-Michigan in Columbus, and VT-OSU in Blacksburg. The OSU-Michigan game was amazing: sitting in the OSU student section, first time in the series where the game went to overtime, and rushing the field when the Buckeyes won. Definitely wouldn't consider myself an OSU fan, but had a great time with Mark showing me the fun parts of Columbus!

Greg and I met during our civil engineering classes in college. When we realized we both were moving to the Hampton Roads area for work, we decided it might not be a bad idea to be roommates in Norfolk to start out, both to save money and have at least 1 friend in a new city. I don't think we could have predicted how great of a decision that would be. We ended up being roommates in both Norfolk and the oceanfront for almost 5 years and remain close friends with him in Charlottesville and me in Richmond. Greg was a big reason it was easy to integrate into our post-college home; I always knew I had a friend to join me in parties, bar crawls, kickball teams, Busch Gardens trips, wine fests...

Whether he remembers or not, Hugh and I met during my internship with Kimley-Horn. To be fair, we only became close friends after I started working full time the following summer. We met through my friend and his now wife Megan when we worked at Kimley-Horn together. There are so many random activities/hobbies I remember sharing with Hugh: body surfing at Rudee's Inlet, going to Ocean Breeze waterpark in the middle of a summer weekday, go-karting at the Euro Track, trivia nights at Back Bay, game nights most every weekend, and embarking on a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Of course most notably, is our annual ski trip we've done for the past 5 years. Never a dull moment on those trips and a vacation I eagerly await every year!

Matt is my brother-in-law. We first met when my sister Mackenna introduced me to her new boyfriend years ago. Based on how happy he made her, I knew Matt was a great guy. I always wanted a brother growing up and I'm lucky to have one now later in life. While there wasn't a very long overlap when Matt, Mackenna, and myself all live in Virginia Beach at the same time, I always enjoyed hanging out with them and showing them fun parts of the Hampton Roads area. Since I've moved to Richmond, we've had great times playing Pokemon or Animal Crossing together on Nintendo Switch.
