Before I even met her, I was interested. After hearing that another Pepperdine alum was in my church’s young adult group, I found myself more willing to show up. At our first group social, Becca walked in (late) and sat next to me. We immediately hit it off and discovered many mutual friends and shared experiences from our respective times at Pepperdine. For the next few months, I endured a lackluster response rate to my text messages. Yet beneath the fun and spunky personality, I soon discovered a depth and sincerity that I started to fall in love with. Admittedly, I started showing up to group each week just to see Becca. Our first date was at a church event, followed by hours of conversation. The next day, we watched the sunset at Half Moon Bay (the spot of the eventual proposal!). After this, the response rate to my text messages increased, and we knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. A month later, I was on a plane to Nashville. I felt loved from the moment I met Becca’s parents, and we are both blessed to carry on legacies of faith and love that our respective families have instilled in us. The Lord wrote a remarkable story—one that is a true testament of His faithfulness and love for both of us. And the best part? It’s just getting started! - Caleb
