Brendan and Becca met the old fashioned way... Facebook dating. After years of searching for their perfect match Facebook was a last resort for both of them. After matching with each other online there was the usual small talk; how many dogs we each had, what we did for work, what we were looking forward to in the future, and of course the planning of a real-life meet up. The conversation quickly moved from Facebook to text messages and just a few days later there was a plan formed to get together. At the time, Becca worked at the fish hatchery and was on call, meaning 7 straight days of 24 hour shifts, so Brendan made the long haul across the Bighorn Mountain Range to have dinner and get to know this girl. Becca remembers hearing Brendan speak for the first time and asking "Where are you from originally because you sound like home" to which Brendan responded "I'm from New Jersey" and that was the beginning of a long string of commonalities. They discovered they spent many winter breaks during childhood skiing at the same mountains back east, they both moved away from home shortly after high school, they enjoyed the same hobbies and held the same values. Needless to say, neither ever logged back into that Facebook Dating app after that first meeting. They spent a year and a half making the 2 hour drive across that mountain range every 2 or 3 days until they decided they had done enough schlepping and Becca resigned her position at the fish hatchery to move to the small town of Ten Sleep. Brendan proposed in November while hunting for the perfect Christmas tree and of course Becca said yes. Now they live on the ranch and Becca helps Brendan in between saddle pad orders. Life couldn't be sweeter!
