We’re getting married!

Greg and I first crossed paths at an anesthesia conference, a place I never imagined would lead to finding the love of my life. At the time, I had grown a bit weary of the dating scene after meeting people who weren’t serious. That year, I had some unused education credits from work, so I figured, why not attend the conference? I even joked with a coworker that maybe I’d meet my future husband there—never expecting those words would come true. During a brief intermission, I stepped outside to take a call. That’s when I noticed a gentleman approaching me. My first thought was, “Oh no, not right now,” but Greg, with his assertive yet polite nature, quickly made it known that he’d love to speak with me afterward. We ended up chatting for a while, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much we had in common—our shared culture, careers, and values. I still remember Greg looking at me and saying I was a ‘unicorn.’ Whether it was his charm or sincerity, I was definitely intrigued. We exchanged numbers—or at least I thought we did—with plans to continue the conversation. It wasn’t until the second day of the conference that we discovered I’d accidentally given him the wrong number. Greg, looking both amused and slightly pained, asked me, “Why would you do that?” I was mortified, but I assured him it was an honest mistake. Thankfully, we fixed it right away, and from that moment, everything just clicked. The rest, as they say, is history.
